On the eve of the specialized exposition of AQUA FARM GLOBAL, which will be held from October 22 to 24 as part of the Seafood Expo Russia exhibition in St. Petersburg, a series of webinars has started, bringing together leading experts, manufacturers and technological partners in the field of aquaculture and mariculture. Online meetings have become part of the preparation for the exhibition and aplatform for discussing the key challenges and prospects of the industry.
What have you already discussed?
The webinar held on April 24 was dedicated to selection and breeding. Experts discussed modernapproaches to the formation of domestic genetic programs, the possibilities of biotechnology and the assessment of breeding value, as well as ways to expand international cooperation with partners in theEAEU and BRICS. The speakers were representatives of FSBI VNIRO, SMART Breeding JSC, Adlertrout breeding plant and others.
On June 30, the second meeting was held, which focused on technological solutions to improve the efficiency of fish farms. The participants talked about the automation and digitalization of productionprocesses, the introduction of energy-saving systems, as well as the importance of adapting equipmentto modern sustainability requirements. Specific examples of successful implementation of innovationswere presented, including water quality control tools developed by Russian manufacturers. Thediscussion was attended by practitioners, scientists and business representatives, including St.Petersburg State University of Veterinary Medicine, the Karelian Research Centre of the RussianAcademy of Sciences, Ecoinstrument and Aqua Farm.
What's ahead?
In autumn, the series of events will continue with new topics. On September 11, a webinar"Digitalization and automation of aquaculture facilities" is planned. The focus is on modern ITsolutions, digital monitoring, analytics systems and real-time farm management. Companies that havealready implemented such technologies in practice plan to present their expertise.
Also on October 2, the participants plan to discuss the potential and challenges of non-fish aquaculture- the cultivation of shellfish, algae and other objects. The focus is on diversifying the sector andcombining all areas of sustainable aquaculture and mariculture at the AQUA FARM GLOBAL site. Inaddition, there are plans to hold a separate event dedicated to equipment, technologies and solutionsfrom specialized companies.
